If you purchase this player thinking you can replace a roku box and have only one device to do streaming video and watch DVD's, don't. You cannot download additional apps and you do not find this out until after you purchase the player. The details on the box are misleading. Although you have built in Wi-Fi you can only stream the pre-installed apps.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations

I use the Netflix app often, One of the main reasons for buying this machine. Very often it freezes and I have to unplug the machine to restore it

not for you if you love netflix

Ok so normally I dont review anything although I myself read/watch milions of reviews for buying decisions but anywho.... this is my 1st bluray and I've had it since February and I'm pretty much at the point of throwing this down 2 stories. I know things have a tendency to glitch but netflix on here is a joke. It continually freezes and the remote stays unresponsive so I always have to unplug the whole thing. And it's not my Internet connection b/c netflix works perfectly fine on my note 2 and note tablet. To make a long story short you'd be better off getting a hdmi to phone connecter thingy (4got what its called sorry) and streaming Netflix on there as I've been doing lately b/c this model is basically just a pretty dvd player. I've even been thinking about getting an allshare dongle so I can share the screen for netflix instead of having my precious phablet across the room but hopefully this review helps you back out on this here model dont be cheap like me lol
Pros: great for a mini workout
Cons: Did not meet expectations, no netflix, unit & remote unresponsive, unplugging=unfreezing

Awesome except for 1 thing

Awesome, only have had 1 issue. sometimes when going to Netflix and then trying to get out of it the player will lock up and you have to unplug it to get out of the black screen.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: issue with netflix

Dysfunctional product

I was lucky if this product worked 5% of the time. It was constantly freezing and I would have to unplug it from the wall to get it to restart. The response time between the remote and the actual player was really long and I could press pause on a movie or Netflix and it would take a good 30 seconds for it to actually pause. Netflix rarely worked, and it was just all around a bad product. Glad I returned it (6 months later).

This model does not work

I took my first unit player back because it intermittently, was unable to stream my Netflix shows. This quit Netflix steaming after just a couple of weeks. I have 2 other Samsung devices that work just fine. So I believe this is the model that is bad.

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY, DO NOT BUY THIS!

We bought this player for the sole purpose of being able to stream Netflix and have the subtitles. It was a mistake.
1) When streaming Netflix movies it constantly freezes and we have to do the unplug/plug thing over and over so it would work for another 5 minutes at a time.
2) When it's working the subtitles skip a lot, and they are always behind the dialogue.
3) The remote buttons work only half the time, I keep pressing the rewind and fast forward and nothing happens on the screen.
4) It's going back to the store

I bought this Blu-ray player for a bedroom tv. I was looking for something mainly to use with netflix. However, this player is frustrating to say the least. It constantly freezes when streaming and takes forever to reload. Fairly often it totally freezes and the only way to fix it is to unplug it from the wall. At first I thought it was an issue with my WIFI but this is the only device in the house that does this. I would not recommend this player.
