First Blue Ray

OK, I held off as long as I could buying a blue ray player. But when I bought a new Samsung big screen TV, I needed an equally good product to play DVDs. This Samsung Blue Ray player is great! The features are good and once I discovered a few tricks, I'm having an awesome movie experience in my home!

Stopped working after 9 months

I trust Samsung as a brand, but this Blu Ray player let me down. The controls were always very slow, but I didn't think that was a huge issue. Then, after about 9 months of extremely light use, it can't read ANY discs anymore. It doesn't matter if I put in a blu ray or a dvd, I've tried many discs (even ones that used to work in this player), and after it spins the disc for awhile, I get an error message that it can't read the disc. I decided to just use it for Netflix. That worked for about a week, and now I can't watch a movie on Netflix without it freezing up. The only way to get it to do anything is to unplug the device and wait, then start up Netflix all over again. This thing is a piece of junk. :(
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, didn't last a year
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

this was a good item while it worked. We only had it for 2 years and it quit working.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality
