Too strong scent. I started to cough as soon I sprayed on dishes and it gave me a headache. I won't be buying again nor I would recommend it to someone else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're so sorry you started to cough and experienced a headache when using our Dawn Powerwash Dish Spray. Please be assured that every ingredient, as well as the complete formula, is fully evaluated against the highest safety standard using the latest scientific approach for consumer safety. Although this is not a health concern, some consumers may experience a temporary tickle in their nose or throat when spraying Dawn Dish Spray. To avoid this occurring, use the product in a well-ventilated area and spray the product away from your face. It may also help to hold dishes at arm’s length to increase the distance between the spray and the nose and mouth. If you're having any concerns, we recommend that you discontinue use and seek advice from your medical provider. Your safety is our very top priority, and we’d like to learn more details of your experience to further help. Please give our Dawn Team a call at 1-800-725-3296 from 9AM – 6PM EST Monday – Friday.

Mixed feelings on product
on March 4, 2024

from Ontario Canada
I have mixed feelings about this product. I will start with the pro's. It seems to get about 80-85% of the baked on food from my fry pans. Cost is pretty responsible and don't need a lot. The con's are the smell or products that are used are so VERY STRONG that my asthma was effected it makes me worry about what I'm actually putting on the cooking pans. The spray from the bottle is very stiff and difficult for spraying and nothing like commercials.
Response from dawn-dish.comBy Customer CareMarch 6, 2024
We're glad you love the effectiveness our Dawn Powerwash has on your dishes, Sunner. However, we're concerned if the spray is triggering your asthma, and also if you're finding the bottle difficult to spray. Our products go through stringent quality controls to ensure each meets our high standards. As well, every ingredient as well as the complete formula, is fully evaluated to be safe when used as directed. If you're experiencing any symptoms causing concern, we recommend that you discontinue use and seek advice from your docter. To achieve the best cleaning results, be sure to scrape all chunks of food and grease from cookware before applying the spray. For heavily soiled dishes, let the spray foam suds sit for 3-4 minutes. Your safety is always our very top priority, and we’d like to learn more about your experience to further help. Please give our Dawn Team a call at 1-800-725-3296 from 9AM – 6PM EST Monday – Friday.

We thank you for sharing your feedback on our recent change to Dawn Ultra Original, Lala. We know this is the first change in over 10 years, and that scent preference can be very personal. We're sorry to hear you are not a fan of the new scent. Please rest assured that we value your feedback greatly, and we will relay it to our Research and Development team. We'd recommend giving our Dawn E-Z Squeeze Free & Clear Fragrance-Free a try, as it has all of the cleaning power of Dawn with no added scent. We'd love to hear more about your experience and help you locate this version of Dawn. Please give us a call at (800) 725-3296 Monday-Friday 9 AM - 6 PM EST.

PLEASE redesign the spray device.
on April 25, 2024
Posted by: MRM MPLS
The product in the bottle is fantastic. HOWEVER, how could a giant company like P&G who developed this great product not get the spray bottle right? It is impossible to spray. Especially when the bottle gets soapy or wet. You have got to call Illinois Tool Works or some other company and get them to redesign the spray device. I would love it if you have suggestions that might make it easier to spray.
Response from dawn-dish.comBy Customer CareApril 29, 2024
We're sorry the sprayer on your Dawn Dish Spray isn't working with the ease that is expected. Our products go through stringent quality controls to ensure each meets our high standards, and we'd like to share a few tips that may help. Because the spray bottle is sold with the trigger in the locked position to prevent accidental spraying while in the warehouse or store, it's important to make sure the trigger is unlocked before you go to use it. There is a cutout in the white plastic that shows a yellow marking at the top of the sprayer that needs to be aligned with the matching cutout on the tip of the nozzle. When those cutouts are matched up where you see a yellow circular shape, then it is unlocked. Depressing the trigger while locked can damage the trigger. Also, prior to the first use, the bottle may need 3-5 full trigger pulls to begin spraying. Also, occasionally, there may be air trapped in the bottle. While squeezing the trigger, squeeze the body of the bottle. This should force out any trapped air so it will spray as intended. Your satisfaction is very important to us, and our Dawn Team is standing by if you need any further help. Just give our Dawn Team a call at 1-800-725-3296 from 9AM -- 6PM EST Monday–Friday and we'll be happy to assist you.

Sprayer failure

I have bought this product often but I now have a sprayer that does not spray at all. I’ve resorted to pouring the product on whatever needs cleaning and then soaking the item.

We're sorry your Dawn Powerwash isn't working after changing the refill. Our products undergo many quality checks to ensure they get to you with the best results, so we don't expect these things to happen. Remove the sprayer from the empty bottle by turning it counterclockwise to release. Then, remove and discard the disposable cap from the refill bottle.Place the sprayer on a full refill bottle and give ¼ turn clockwise to secure. Most importantly, ensure the dip tube and trigger are aligned. So we can help you further, please call us at (800) 725-3296 from 9 AM to 6 PM EST Monday through Friday.

Extremely disappointed!

I purchased a set of Dawn Powerwash Spray and 3 refills because of the raves everyone was giving it all over social media, which in hindsight was probably the first red flag(never believe everything you hear on the Internet)!
Also, I have used Dawn dish soap for at least 25 years, possibly longer and absolutely will never buy anything else because IT is a wonderful product that works better than expected! Sadly, Dawn Powerwash has given me multiple problems. The MOST aggravating one is the degree of difficulty in using the pump! The pump barely made it through 1/3 of the first bottle as well as being almost impossible to spray! The white part of the trigger is so soft, it merely bends inward and applies no force toward the neck of the bottle. I have tried numerous ways of holding it as I apply pressure, to very little resulting spray. I was a bench hand and a cake decorator for 40 years, so I am not a weak person, people remark on my nice, firm handshake. So I’ve been just using it on a sponge to lather up things and let them soak. I have tried it on skillets, my gas stove top, cookie sheets and even my bathtub floor that developed a stubborn watermark. Dawn Powerwash barely removed any of the greasy areas, unlike the dish soap which makes things sparkling clean-even chicken stock grease! The Powerwash gets everywhere(especially if I can coax any spray out of the pump) and just seems to linger no matter how many times I wipe and rinse. The scent of the Powerwash is vastly unpleasant and hangs around forever, unlike its cleaning power which is mostly absent. I tried respraying and soaking items again, almost in tears by now(angry tears!) because the spray pump is such a beast to use. And the results of the repetition? Non existent, even after 3 tries. I am not sensitive to strong smells or scents either, but this stuff...ick. Guess I’ll go back to Bar Keeper’s Friend, it works the first time I use it. And yes, I’m using the same Scotchbright scrubbie sponge and/or the flat green scrubbies with both products. So I’m definitely putting in the elbow grease. I might as well be using water. And water smells better too. I DO NOT recommend Dawn Powerwash at all. The dish soap however is fantastic-why is Powerwash so terrible?! From a frustrated customer, Karen (yes, that’s my real name, sigh)

We're sorry you are having difficulty with your Dawn Powerwash, Karen. Our products undergo many quality checks to ensure they get to you with the best results, so we don't expect these things to happen. Make sure the trigger is unlocked. The product should be in the locked position on store shelves. A cutout in the white plastic shows a yellow marking at the top of the sprayer. The tip of the nozzle also has a cutout. It is unlocked when those cutouts are matched up, and the yellow shape is completed. It is locked when the cutouts are not matched up and the yellow shape is incomplete. To unlock the nozzle, grasp the tip of the nozzle and turn to match up the cutouts. Once unlocked and ready to spray, ensure to pull the trigger firmly and all the way for a full spray. So we can help you get back to spraying away those dirty dishes, please call us at (800) 725-3296 Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM EST.

Horrible taste and smell!
on June 10, 2024

Dawn dish soap has always been my go-to cleaner for dishs, laundry, and pets. Always safe. So why wouldn't power wash be the same. I am a new mom. I recently used dawn power wash to remove milk residue off my silicone breast pumps. Cleaned them beautifully. However, the next day I notice some of the milk smells weird. Then I notice my pumps smell weird. My daughter was crying in pain for most of the day and I couldn't figure out how the milk I had just pumped smelled bad already. It took a day to figure out the scent matched my dawn power wash. Before it's suggested I just didn't rinse them well, I have re washed them with regular dawn multiple times and soaked them in baking soda. The smell remains. I was forced to replace the *expensive* pumps. Needles to say I have lost confidence in the brand and won't be buying anyone more Fawn products.

We're sorry to hear you didn't have the experience you expected, and assure you that we have many quality checks to ensure you get the best from your Dawn. We wouldn't expect the PowerWash to impart the scent of the product into food. However, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become porous, it is possible. If certain items always pick up a flavor, they're probably worn to the point of being porous. It might help to know that cast iron and plastic items can absorb flavors. We'd like to help you get the most from your dish soap, so when you have a minute, please get in touch with us at (800) 725-3296.
