I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 that does not have the updated software and this cartridge works fine. The printer knows that it is not a genuine HP cartridge but it doesn't seem to care.

I bought this thinking I was saving money on regular HP cartridges. I've learned that the Staples cartridge won't work because the HP cartridge has a chip in it telling the printer it's an HP cartridge and the Staples cartridge doesn't. Bottom line is Staples cartridges don't work with HP printers

it is terrible. second time in a row trying. now returning all. after loading all we get is error codes. we are back to using the hp brand.

This ink would not work in my printer. I will not utilize refurbished again. HP has something in their system that does not allow you to use the refurbished cartridges. I was bummed. No error on Staples but it was not compatible.
