Great capacity and functionality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 2nd KItchenAid Refrigerator. I love the overall capacity of this Fridge. The last model I had was a 5 Door which offered great convenience, but I thought sacrificed some of the space. The larger double-door fridge has great accessibility, and the temperature control on the side of the door in a pleasant feature. I have more than enough specialized areas to organize everything. As with my previous KitchenAid, the preservation and crispness of the vegetables and fruits really is noticeable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Looks good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needs brighter lights/ more lights.
Needs a side door able to hold tall bottles.
Slide needs to operate better when it has products on it. Once weight is on it the slide doesn’t really work.
Slide separators need to have a locking device to hold it in position.
I do like the middle drawer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I am pleased with my refrigerator. Accessibility is very good, capacity meets my current needs. Temperature is perfect and easily adjusted. My only concern is my ice maker which had to be replaced after six months of the purchase. At times the ice maker freezes up, then will spit ice and water all over my floor.
This tends to happen if I have not used the ice maker for several days. I am often gone from the area for several days or weeks at a time due to my schedule. If I continue to have difficulty, I'll contact repair services before the warranty is expired.

Dark interior, poor storage utilization
on July 23, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wish the interior color was white, grey makes inside fridge look a little darker. I understand that’s the aesthetics for this model tier but still…
Other thing was didn’t notice can’t really adjust door shelving or glass shelves when we purchased it in showroom. That was disappointing. Overall though this seems to be a very well made product

Same defrost drain failure in two brand-new units
on June 1, 2026

We bought the KitchenAid KRMF436SPS expecting years of reliable service at this price point, and instead we have now watched the exact same failure happen twice, in two separate brand-new units.
In both cases the refrigerator ran fine for the first month and a half. Then, somewhere between six and eight weeks in, the defrost/condensation drain froze over. Once that drain ices up, the water from the normal defrost cycle has nowhere to go, so it backs up and freezes into a sheet at the bottom of the freezer drawer. From there it overflows and runs out onto the kitchen floor. We were wiping up water and chipping out ice on a unit that was barely two months old.
What makes this hard to accept is that it was not a fluke. We had the first unit replaced, the second one was also brand new, and it developed the identical problem on the identical timeline. Two units, same symptom, same six-to-eight-week window. That points to a design issue with how the drain is routed and kept clear, not to a one-off defective part or anything we did wrong. The fridge was leveled and installed correctly, and we did nothing unusual with it.
To be fair, when it is working the refrigerator itself is nice. Good capacity, the FreshChill drawer is genuinely useful, the layout and finish are excellent, and it is quiet. But none of that matters if you cannot trust it to not flood your floor. A refrigerator has one job above all others, and a brand-new unit dumping water onto the floor twice in a row is a serious reliability problem.
I would think hard before buying this model. If you already own one, keep an eye on the freezer floor for any ice sheet forming, because that is the early warning sign before it starts leaking.
When we called Kitchen Aid service, they told us they would call back within a week and tell us when our service appointment would be. Unacceptable! Thank God Costco agreed to take them both back and agreed to refund our money
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
