Decent system for the price

Bought to replace a RBR850 in a 2500 sq ft ranch house. Setup was fairly easy since I was replacing an Orbi system. Satellites went thru a firmware update. I use one satellite with the 850. Replaced the 850 satellite with the 370 at the same spot and placed the 2nd satellite between the router and the other satellite. Backhaul status was good on both satellites. In my opinion, the wifi speed degrades significantly. At the router I was about 1.1 gb and the furthest dropped to about 250mb. About 50 mb faster than my 850 so to me not worth the investment. The WiFi Analytics in the app does not work either.
We were notified that our old Orbi was aging and given a discount to upgrade. Setup was easy. The Orbi seems to be working fine with all our smart conveniences with the exception of smart bulbs controlled by Alexa. They randomly turn off and on. There are no routines involved and I've tried different bulbs to no avail. Also our Avanta water heater timer failed to connect. We changed to the 2.4 Ghz and that also made no difference. We are at a loss...

Hi
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your feedback and we want you to know that your experience is important to us. We are sorry to hear that you are having a difficult experience with connecting some of your connected devices such as smart bulbs and Avanta water heater to your RBE373. Orbi WiFi 7 WiFi networks are encrypted with WPA2-PSK + WPA3-Personal encryption by default. This is because it is the best blend of compatibility and security available. However, some devices such as printers, smart devices (IoT), and older devices are not compatible with this level of encryption. For these devices to work, we recommend visiting this link: https://kb.netgear.com/000066695/How-to-resolve-issues-connecting-devices-to-your-NETGEAR-WiFi-7-network. If you're still experiencing any issues, please reach out to us at netgearteam@netgear.com — we’re happy to help! If your experience has improved, we’d really appreciate an updated review. Awful!! One minute, I have internet, the next minute it's down. I've switched back to my 5 year old router/modem and am getting 67 megabits, rock stable. I want to send the Orbi back for a refund!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Smooth Install
on October 20, 2025

The install went very well. My WiFi speed in the office upstairs went from 30 mhz to around 200 mhz. I have a gig fiber downstairs. The only hiccup was when I wanted to name the WiFi the same name as before. All other WiFi was turned off, but I should have “forgotten” the old network on my phone before the install. The software let me do it anyway with a warning. I didn’t want to reprogram all 50 devices in our home, so keeping the same name and password was important.

Works Great

Had been using those small plug in WiFi extenders. They work fair. These are a GREAT improvement. These are a little more but well worth the money.
While connectivity looks good some devices are having connectivity issues. Speed is good but signal strength goes up and down.

Hi Mrdogo,
Thank you for your review and valuable feedback. We would like an opportunity to improve your experience with your RBE373. Orbi WiFi 7 networks are encrypted with WPA2-PSK + WPA3-Personal encryption by default. This is because it is the best blend of compatibility and security available. However, some devices such as printers, smart devices (IoT), and older devices are not compatible with this level of encryption. For these devices to work, you must connect them to a network with a lower level of encryption.
