Straddling the fence

I've had my gardyn setup and running for over a year now. I have paid into the membership, which I have since removed myself from because I found it to be too expensive, and not worth the money. The free pod points were great, but not worth the monthly expense when I wasn't using them fast enough, and figured they wouldn't be as viable the longer they sat around. As far as my experience... the first year I bought veggies and leafy greens. I can say the veggies, such as peppers, cucumber, tomatoes were all duds. They were all like ornamental size produce, and too small to be eaten. The leafy greens, such as lettuce, greens, and green onions did well, but don't produce enough to really make a meal out of, if you also are growing other vegetables. And not all pods even produce anything. A good deal of my pods did nothing but grow algae or mold. Second time around, I cleaned the system and started from scratch. This time trying my luck with flowers. This was a good choice. I have lots of beautiful colorful flowers blooming, and out of 14 pods, only 2 did not grow. I also need to note connectivity... the system drops a lot from wifi. The lights will just stay on 24 hrs a day, and the watering schedule will stop, causing your plants to dry out. Most times I'm not even aware the system has dropped from wifi, because the app will still show it's connected. That is quite irritating because your delicate growing pods will be damaged to the point of no recovery. All in all, even though I do like the system for some things, I can't say I would recommend it, because of the hefty price tag for the system. Unless you have money to throw away, which a lot of us don't, it's a fun novelty. If you're buying because you thought you'd have a healthy indoor gardening experience year round, you may find yourself disappointed.

Absolutely wonderful!! We use hydroponics for year round cut flowers and I love that I can enjoy these in my living space.

I’ve had my Gardyn Home (aka 4.0) for almost a year and I’ve been so impressed as to how well this system is made. A few months ago my family and I moved to a new home so I needed to disassemble my Gardyn and pack it back up in the box it shipped in - talk about EASY! I was originally nervous but after setting it back up in our new home, it was a breeze and we’re back to enjoying a constant flow of fresh food. I’m also a huge fan of Kelby (AI Assistant) simply because I’m a very busy woman and toddler mom - Kelby keeps me on track and reminds me when I need to do a task, love it!

Great but More Expected

I am not disappointed in my Gardyn, although I’ve yet to get a really satisfactory indication of its harvest potential. It’s telling me now to do a second harvest, but it doesn’t seem there’s enough growth of plants I can really use. In particular, the collard greens and kale are either dying or very feeble and the chard has barely enough for a very small serving even though it has a couple of large leaves. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the two sunflowers add to the aesthetics once they are fully bloomed. My favorite is the very colorful red sorrel.

I have never loved a gift as much as I do this Gardyn!! I eat a fresh salad multiple times a week and can’t wait for the tomatoes and cucumbers! Never have I ever had better herbs than these!!

Not what we hoped for

This started really fun, but we follow all the directions and really don't have anything to show for it. More often than not the plants don't grow, the strawberry plants each grew 1 strawberry. Difficult to understand the harvest part. Just not what we thought we were getting.
