Received the gardyn 4.0 as a gift and set it up immediately! Set up was fairly simple just pay attention to all instruction about directions and alignment. Seeing the plants sprout within the first week was the coolest thing for a beginner gardyner to see and makes it feel like this is something anyone can do. I also just placed my first order of new plants with the monthly free credits and shipping and that was a really amazing feature and got 5 new plants without spending anymore cash. The app could have a little more to it and would be nice if you could easily keep track of the plants your actively growing but the AI assistant really does it all and accurately reported sprouting. The lights are very bright and do need to be on the majority of the day but by adjusting the schedule to start earlier and end earlier we haven’t been bothered by it. And the sound it makes while watering is noticeable but also pleasant since it sounds similar to a fountain. My biggest gripe with the product is the lack of attention and awareness brought to potentially toxic plants and vegeatable for dogs. The way it recommended setting up the plants left a few in the bottom rows that are known dog toxins (like mint and the tomatoes) I was able to position them towards the top of my system where they can’t be reached without issue. If I hadn’t done research into those plants though I wouldn’t have known so adding in a pet safe placement guide would be incredibly helpful or just having the guides set up with more toxic plants towards the top.

I consider myself as far from a gardener as you can get, but I thought it made sense to grow things inside away from bugs and birds. Plus, I thought Gardyn was pretty! My husband told me it would never work and boy was he wrong! I have already had more salads than I can count and I am so proud of myself! He even admitted that Gardyn is pretty amazing! I am one happy member!

I am very happy with my Gardyn. The first few times something goes wrong it is difficult to trouble shoot, but as u learn how the system works it becomes exponentially easier. I’ve only had one problem with watering that was an easy fix, other than that smooth sailing. The yield is great, it is low maintenance and I enjoy caring for it. There are minor design flaws that prevent it from being a 5 star review, and I think the build quality on some elements could be better, but it is still a great product.
