I'm surprised by how much I can fit in this bag, and that it still fits perfectly in the overhead compartment (United, British Air). Highly recommend for those who want to avoid the "checked baggage" hassle at the end of the flight!

Good for its intent, but spinners have problems

I bought this specifically as the greatest common denominator of airline carry-on sizes and it does that job well: Quality construction, light weight, convenient pockets in dividers, built-in lock. However, this may not be necessary because on a recent domestic trip on United Airlines (whose website specifies this 22x14x9 inches standard) they asked for volunteers to check luggage to make room in the overhead bins despite not verifying the size of any passenger's luggage, almost all of which were larger but still fit the bins. And counter to the popularity of built-in USB ports for power banks, United asked passengers to remove such batteries from their bags stored in the overhead. I prefer to have my power bank at my seat to use with my devices in flight anyway.
This is my first spinner bag and I only got it because the all 22x14x9 bags are spinners. But spinner wheels, being entirely external, remove an inch of storage compared to a 2-wheel bag of the same external dimension whose wheels are recessed. Two-wheelers also have bigger wheels that better handle the rough surfaces and curbs outside the airport terminal. And the hard shell eliminates the pockets of a soft-sider that enable easy access to outerwear, reading material, or an electronic tablet, though these can go in my underseat "personal item".
