Quiet and powerful, but lights are too bright

Am surprised at how quiet this heater is. Like my Vornado fans, this heater is powerful. The case is good looking and does not get hot to the touch. It has automatic turnoff for both tip overs and overheating. The automatic dimming of lights (temperature setting and power on) is pathetic. I called Vornado tech support to see if my unit was not functioning properly. I put opaque tape over both. The unit is no longer good looking and instead looks broken. If I had known, I would have looked for another strong and quiet heater. If you don't care about the lighted temp setting and power switch, you will love this heater.

I bought the Vornado whole room heater a month ago. Today the machine stopped. I could not believe it. Over the years, I have had several Vornados heaters and they have been wonderful. What happened? This is unacceptable.

Got this because the combination AC/heater window unit in my apartment is very loud, cycles on and off frequently, and uses up a ton of electricity. The AVH10 is nearly silent on low and quite efficient, and on high it's just a bare hum and quickly heats up my small living room. Only things I wish it had: a remote, timer shut-off, and smart home functionality.

We already use Vornado heaters; have for years. Heat pumps are absolutely useless to stay warm, in my opinion. With 3 Vornado heaters (plus a tiny one to use occasionally in the north bathroom), we can heat our house cheaper than using the heat pump. Our neighbors are always asking how we keep the house so warm, and don’t understand why their heat bills are twice what ours is!

Bought this to replace another Vornado I had for years It finally got to noisy for TV room We keep our house at 68 in winter so I put this on 72 at nite when I watch TV Sunroom is 16 x 12 and it heats it up in no time Also very quiet Would recommend to anyone who wants to warm up a small room

Does not work as designed

I own a lot of Vornados and highly recommend them to friends. However, it seems that the heating units with a thermostat are problematic. The thermostats do not function as designed. They never accurately turn on and off based on the temperature that I selected. It becomes a game of trying to work with the unit versus of dumping it in the trash due to frustration. The manual models work correctly and I regret my recent purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
