Quiet and powerful, but lights are too bright

Am surprised at how quiet this heater is. Like my Vornado fans, this heater is powerful. The case is good looking and does not get hot to the touch. It has automatic turnoff for both tip overs and overheating. The automatic dimming of lights (temperature setting and power on) is pathetic. I called Vornado tech support to see if my unit was not functioning properly. I put opaque tape over both. The unit is no longer good looking and instead looks broken. If I had known, I would have looked for another strong and quiet heater. If you don't care about the lighted temp setting and power switch, you will love this heater.

Power button fell off

Worked fine for while, but then the power button literally just fell off into the machine and it's now a 100 dollar door stop. Never dropped, kicked, and rarely even moved. Just junk. I read other reviews where this happened. You can probably buy something that will last just as long for half the money.

Where is the quality Assurance?

I bought one of these heaters approximatly a year ago, about 4 months in and the button on the top broke. Talked with Vornado Customer Service and got a warranty replacement about a week later. Well Warranty replacement stopped working after 3 weeks of use. 2 units now straight to the garbage. Seems like a good product in theory, but there is just no quality assurance with these items.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great until it broke 1 month old

I loved it very happy for what i needed glad i spent the extra money, than 1 month old and it quit working all lights on but nothing else. I need something dependable i don't have the luxury of sending it in and waiting for repair . I live 50 miles from town i cant even run to store and get a new one if they would even have them when the temp. drops here the shelves of heaters become bare. For two weeks we had frigid - temps for highs that heater was needed to work not look pretty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Warm and Tosty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So i just got my AVH10 Vortex Heater from Viewpoints to sample in exchange for my Honest review. I have never used a heater before so this is my first time. I have to say i am very impressed with the safety features that it comes with. There is this thing underneath it that lets the machine know its on a flat surface and that it is ok to turn on, once that button is not pushed on it goes off. Amazing!!! I know i was impressed too. It has a fan option on it as well so it don't always have to be used for the winter. Another plus in my book (claps hands). I don't know much about heaters but you are able to control the temp with this one. It is not loud at all and it really does heat up the whole room. i put it in a corner away from my door and i can feel the heat on the other side. So they are true to their word about that. It is small but not that small but is very powerful. if this one ever broke i would be out buying another one when i have the chance.
Pros: Energy Efficient, Heats the Whole Room

Vortex Heater

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this little heater. It's a little heater but packs a lot of punch(or heat). The first thing I noticed when I received my package was the packaging of the heater. I think you can tell a lot about the quality of things by the way they are packaged, and this was packaged with care from a company that seems to be proud of their products. I was very impressed with the sleek design of the little heater. It had a nice handhold to pull it out of the box. The first thing I noticed when I unwrapped the cord, which tucks away neatly at the bottom of the heater, was the trip switch. So if someone knocks the heater over, it automatically turns off. That is perfect, because you know most people worry about space heaters and fires. Someone put a lot of thought into the design of this heater. My daughter was very excited about the little heaters as we have not turned our heat on yet in the house. We plugged the space heater immediately so that we could have a cozy place to do homework. The controls were a cinch to figure out, so we set the temp and then left the room for 5 minutes to see what happened. Voila, the room was so cozy and warm when we returned. I would say the room is 10x12, so it's not huge but 5 minutes isn't a long time either. I like that the fan automatically circulates the warm air in the room as well. Nice feature! We have many other space heaters, as we have a small house so it does not take a lot to heat it . I have never seen one of these Vortex heaters before, but now would recommend and would buy them myself over other heaters. You can tell that the quality of the heater is excellent. This is by far one of the best little space heaters around!

Great portable home heater

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice little portable heater that is good for small rooms like the bathroom and bedroom. It puts out decent heat and is quiet to uses. It is lightweight and easy to move around the house. It comes in a nice color and design. It is economical. It does not use a lot of energy to use. It is good for warming small rooms and spaces up quickly
