The online reviews seemed great, with a variety of options. I especially liked the thermostat control, which will maintain the temperature once reached. I was, however expecting more performance after reading the reviews. It struggles to bring a 200 sq. ft. room above 70 degrees even after letting it run for 30 minutes. I question how it would save on heating bills by heating individual room rather than whole house when it struggles for one small room.

Does not work as designed

I own a lot of Vornados and highly recommend them to friends. However, it seems that the heating units with a thermostat are problematic. The thermostats do not function as designed. They never accurately turn on and off based on the temperature that I selected. It becomes a game of trying to work with the unit versus of dumping it in the trash due to frustration. The manual models work correctly and I regret my recent purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works as advertised

We use this daily in our bathroom for when we get out of the bath or shower. We turn it on 10 minutes or so beforehand to let the room heat up. We also turn on the overhead heat lamp. We live in Colorado at 8,000' and so the bathroom can be cool during fall and winter.

Warm and toasty

Just bought two heaters for my condo. I am over the moon with the quality, quietness and exceptional heat output to create the perfect room temperature. AVH30 model works so well, I purchased a second unit on the same day. I even returned another heater previously purchased from the competition since the Vornado outperformed the other heater within the first 30 minutes. I look forward to the warmth and cost savings

Stopped working

I bought this heater in 2015 and used it during winter time to heat the bedroom, because it's really quiet. Unfortunately, it just stopped heating this year. The fan works fine, but the heating unit apparently died. I don't see any signs of damage, or smell. It just doesn't work on neither low nor high modes.
Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Quiet
Cons: Unstable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The only con, thermostat only goes down to 60.

The Best heater I have ever used!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This heater is Amazing! Quiet and Powerful I first used it on my sun porch when my other heater died. It's almost winter here, so all my other heater did was keep the chill of my porch. I put the Vortex heater on my porch and set it to 80 and within 30 minutes , it was a very warm 80 degrees on my porch. I love it , because now i can put my tropical plants back out there where they can get sun. Before with all the other heater i used it would never warm up enough keep them out there. The Awesome thing about the Vortex too, is that if my 3 year old happens to bump it and knock it over, it immediately shuts off, and even after running all day it is still safe to touch!!! I love how you can change it to the exact temperature that you want . This is definitely the best heater I have ever owned!
Pros: Energy Efficient, Good Power Output, Heats the Whole Room, Quiet, Safe
