From a heating point of view, this Vornado seems very efficient and fast. It heats up a small bedroom/office quickly.
The problem is that we bought it almost a year ago, and it continues to have a strong plastic smell. My wife won't allow it in any room except my office with the door closed. I totally understand -- I smell it too, but am too cheap to replace it.

Easy to use; heats quickly with multiple setting; tip-over protection; and, our disabled daughter uses it in her room and turns it on and off and adjusts the temperature setting herself - great ease-of-use!

This is the 3rd AVH10 heater I've purchased in the last 2 years (for our home and my children's dorms). It's quiet, extremely efficient (warms up a room very quickly), and maintains the selected temp perfectly. No safety issues to worry about like the space heaters of years past. It's design is also aesthetically pleasing as well. All around, an A+!!!

This is a great space heater -- looks sharp, quiet, and provides the perfect warmth to the main room... but after a month, the power button dislodged itself from the unit. I finally was able to fish it out but it's impossible to put back in. Seems like an overlooked part of the wear and tear of a product. I certainly was not rough with it so I'm not sure why this button broke so quickly. A different button design would likely withstand the rigours of pushing on/off better. It still works but doesn't quite look as slick w/o its button. I would recommend a different unit w/ a different button design.

I was very happy, but when I tried using it in a freezing cold mudroom it failed and won't reset. I didn't know it won't work in freezing temperatures. Why doesn't the manual say this?

LOVE OUR VORNADO HEATERS!

We currently own 4 of these exact heaters. Our home has central heat, but it also has high ceilings and during the colder days it has trouble keeping up. The floor can feel pretty cold! The Vornado heaters are wonderful because some magical way they spread the heat very gently around the room and make it nice and toasty. The AVH10 has the added feature of a thermostat and a low/high setting, which makes it convenient to keep the temperature consistent. It also has a fan setting that works well in summer months. Overall a worthwhile investment. Plus, Vornado stands behind there products and will replace it for free if it has a problem. They have done that for us in the past without question. Highly recommend Vornado!
