Couldn’t wait to purchase and build this set. Only issue was I wish they would have given a heads up that the mechanics required the coin to fully use. As I was building I tested out the turntable knob and it got stuck (after reading reviews, it sounds like it won’t fully work without putting the chip coin in. I didn’t realize this bc it wasn’t written in the instructions, so when it got “stuck” while testing before it was fully built I ended up taking it apart to see where I went wrong. The turning mechanism has a space (where the coin goes in and finishes the turn to drop the ball). Had I known this I wouldn’t have needed to take 1/2 of it apart and basically start over. I’ve built other functional legos (typewriter, Pac Man) and it wasn’t until I was done did I realize it didn’t work correctly. So had to take apart and start over. I will go back to the vending machine and rebuild from where the “functionality” pieces go together. Like I mentioned, I wish in the instructions it mentioned, knob will not fully work until coin is placed. Would have avoided me testing it, thinking it didn’t work bc I did something incorrectly and now having to go back through those building steps. Other than that, I love the nostalgia of this lego. Brings back memories of going to grocery store as a kid and wanting candy, gum or toys from the multiple machines at the store. Can’t wait to finish it! Agree on the mini figures, would have been cool have some surprise figures vs bland ones. And having the option to buy extra balls to fill with gum or other mini figures would be awesome. Great job to the lego designer who came up with this idea and mechanics! Such a cool idea, hope lego makes more like this!
Okay, I love this set way more than I thought I would. The Minifigure Vending Machine is just pure joy. The build is super fun and clever, and it actually works! You twist the knob and a little capsule pops out with a minifig inside. It legit feels like a LEGO version of those old-school toy machines you'd beg your parents to give you coins for. The best part… It comes with two exclusive classic LEGO Spacemen, one is shiny gold and the other in a super cool vivid blue, They look amazing and totally pop on display. I was mostly grabbing this for the novelty, but it’s turned out to be one of my favorite small sets in a long time. If you’re into quirky LEGO builds or love classic space minifigs, this thing is a must-have. Plus, it just makes people smile when they see it—total conversation piece on my shelf.
I have to say that this is my all time favorite build. I love that it is a functioning vending machine that requires a coin to be inserted before a minifigure is dispended. Only thing I would suggest is to offer more minifigure balls for sale so we can add even more to it.
I recommend this build for everyone 12 and up. Smooth moving parts and works great
I would recommend this to a friend!

Fun and relatively easy build. Looks like the real thing! Works flawlessly-- just make sure to turn the mechanism gently as it does not take much force to operate. Had some kids turn it hard at first and it would end up separating some pieces by the knob.
