This was an enjoyable build with my 12-year-old son who received it as a birthday gift from his grandmother...well, except for step 102 (pay close attention to this step!) that required I dismantle about 10 steps to make a quick fix so the gears would turn properly. It's been fun to play with as well after he finished it.
I got this set for myself to spruce up my work space, and goodness it is amazing. The engineering that went into the crank (requiring a coin too) to get the capsule is just unreal. Me and my son (11) love to just do it over and over and over. The minifigure selection is phenomenal as well. Definitely a very unique set, and a great building experience!
I was extremely excited to get this set & build it! My husband, who is not in to Legos even thinks it’s awesome since it’s a working vending machine! I had a great time building this & will love displaying is as well.
The price for this set is pretty high for the number of pieces in the set, but it was a really fun build. It works great and sections were challenging to build. Overall it was a great building experience.
First of all, I like to say, this is an excellent Lego Product. The instruction manual was easy to follow, all the pieces were in each bag and the final build looks awesome. There were several technics parts for the delivery of the minfig balls, so, you had to pay close attention for those steps. Overall, this was an easy build. The only downside was I wish there were a few more minfig balls for this build. The price was a little high for 1343 pieces, but, it goes well with other vintage builds. This is not for a new builder and so would highly recommend this Lego set!
I'm a fan of any Lego set that requires gears and/or function. This is now tied for my favorite with the Pac-Man machine. The fact there were one to two mini figures to build in each bag really put this set above for me. I also made a mini of my daughter and snuck it in as a surprise.
