I've used HRBlock Premium and Business for many years. Very go program, Sometimes you have to do a little research, but it's a good program. I hope they will continue to still write their program for Microsoft's programs that they don't support anymore, because if they don't then there isn't any savings if you have to buy a new operating system. As a reminder, Microsoft has extended support for Win 10.

The desktop Premium & Business remains a good package. Easy to use and comprehensive. There is, however, an error in Maine Schedule NR that results in an incorrect return. Mini-Worksheet line a in the Mini-Worksheet for Subtraction Modifications (Schedule NR, line 5b) is populated with TP's fullyear taxable Social Security benefit when it should be only the benefit received during TP's nonresidency period. Also, the Mini-Worksheet forces an override rather than letting the user enter the value, which prevents the return from being e-filed. The entry box for line 5a should be left empty as is the entry box for Schedule NR, line 5a, so the user can enter the correct amount or add a list, etc.

I have used this Program for over 20 years and this year's program does not live up to prior years. For example it doesn't expain that to e file you need to use password that matches password from prior year and AGI. I have never had to do that before and as a result on one return I couldn't efile. I don't think AGI is listed on ""Go To Menu"
Pros: Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have used H&R Block Premium and Business tax software for over 15 years (back when it was called "Tax Cut." It gets the job done. Information can be transferred from year to year and data downloaded from brokerages. But I have complaints. It's impossible to change the (very small) font size so I get eyestrain. The Premium and Business have completely different menus which is a nuisance. It's not possible to sort/ alphabetize accounts.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
