I need this product because, in addition to my own personal taxes, I am trustee of a trust, and must file a 1041 (and CA 541), which is only included in the "Business" product.. have been using HR Block for many years; at least 10. Before that, I used TurboTax. The latter provides MUCH MUCH better support along the way; it is (was?) a far superior product. However, it costs much more, especially the Trust part ("Business"). The 1041 / 541 support is negligible, but at least it allows you to fill it out electronically. You still have to print it out and mail it; the gov't still doesn't accept electronic versions of 1041s or 541s. The big problem with the H&R Block software, especially the 1041, is that the software will calculate a number for some derived line, but won't tell you how; you can right click and select "Jump to Related" but it goes nowhere. This is entirely inadequate and unacceptable.
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The product was rather painful to use. Premium was fairly intuitive but did not provide download capability for a major investment institution, so a number of transactions and forms had to be entered manually. The product had a bug with k-1 QBI credit which prevented filing until the first week of April. The business product was even more painful and it would have been easier to just fill out the forms manually which is primarily what you did as the interview questions were very limited.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The AI version uploaded some of the tax withholdings from the W-2 incorrectly, and I did not notice until our state tax was rejected and had to send an amended return. It actually pulled the Social Security withholdings into the state tax withholdings section

Good software for the most part, although not foolproof - having some knowledge about tax policies and codes and the ability to research them is essential to getting accurate results, especially with the Business module. The biggest drawback for me is the lack of availability for use on Macs. Unfortunately, Turbo Tax is even worse.
