Used H&R Block for a number of years. Always reliable and easy to navigate. Relieves a lot of the stress for annual filings. Keep up the good work!

Premium edition for Self-employed and Rental

I purchased this product two weeks ago. Started at 2:45 pm on February 19th and finished at 6:00 pm same day. Quickest turnaround in 30 years! Linear format works great. Software provides guidance and answers formated questions quickly. I also have found the page color combinations easy on the eyes. I would be hard pressed to defined any needed improvements.

Poor for determining adjusted cost basis on Stocks

Will not use your software in future. Very disappointed. Expected better from your Premium software. Lacks the ability to assist with computing adjusted cost basis for Employer Stocks purchased that had splits and spinoffs.

A few expected features missing

I have used this software for years and generally trust it. However, this year there were a few things that were troublesome. When I tried to bring up the business version, it failed to find my return from last year which was done in the regular non-business version, which were purchased together. When I opened the regular version, then it found last year's. I also noticed the interview didn't include travel expenses so I had to add airfare by hand on the actual form.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to fix issues

Far More Desirable than the Competition

After using TurboTax since 2000 I bought this because the other was getting more expensive and more confusing every year. The first thing that really amazed and delighted me was that it takes only about one fifth as long to open up and be ready to work on a return in progress. I found it far less confusing to use in spite of the fact that I had never used it before. I did find it harder to jump from one place to another but found that the standard conversation was less likely than the Turbotax to take me to a topic that didn't apply based on stuff I had entered earlier. The Block software imported all the information from my 2016 Turbotax return which was on the same computer except for my last year's AGI (it came up with only the last three digits rather than the full four digits). I kind of wish that it would easily save a PDF file of the actual filed return on my computer (it had a way but it involved downloading a conversion program which failed to install on my computer). At least it would print the actual return pages.
