From what I can see the software is not as user friendly as I would have liked. The business side doesn't ask as many questions as it could to work through it. The end result is you are really not sure if everything has been completed. It looks like you could include an Ai review at the end. Neither business or personal is as easy to use as I would expect.

Better user control for sole proprietor business

I prefer H&R Block tax software because it's easy to see what your answers to the interview questions translate to on the actual tax forms. This enables more accurate returns, especially for non-standard situations that can come up with a sole proprietorship business reported on Schedule C. The questions are also more fine-grained, which gives you more control with fewer assumptions being made by the software. The downside, of course, is that you do need to know a little more about tax law and the software isn't as easy to use as others. That's worth it to me. I refer to "JK Lasser's Income Tax" when I need to look something up, but the HRB software makes it easy to ask questions online as well. As for prep time, I got through my complicated home + business tax prep in a day, and online filing was easy and fast.
Pros: Easy to import documents

The program is reasonably easy to navigate. It would be helpful if the tax returns' instruction letter clearly reflected the expectations of the filing. (i.e.: "Your federal tax return is being e-filed and the balance due of $xxx will be automatically drawn from your bank account on April 15, 2026. Your state tax return is being e-filed and you should expect a refund of $xxx to be directly deposited to your bank account.")

Good Product Overall, but Lacks Seamless Tax Integ

Pretty easy to use and a solid product overall. However, there are areas in the business workflow that aren’t clearly defined, especially when errors occur. Also, business tax filings should automatically pre-populate into the individual return, rather than requiring manual entry after filing.

This year my trust tax prep went pretty smoothly. I feel fairly confident that all topics were covered and that the results are accurate. There is always room for improvement. Input could be more transparent and worksheets could be more user friendly. I've been using this software for years and I'd say that this year's version was good.
