I like the product and how it works. I have used H&R Block software for 35 years. But. For the last 2 filings I have used "Premium & Business". This product puts 2 separate programs (Premium & Business) on your computer. For the last 2 filings I have only used the "Premium" program. I don't want or need to file 2 separate returns. For 2 years I have tried unsuccessfully to find out which product I should purchase and use for my personal and very small business schedule C.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Fast

I would give it zero stars if possible since the software was unable to import from last year’s Business software. I even installed it on two different windows computer and neither was able to import the previous year’s software.
This means, after decades of using the software (since the days of “Tax Cut”) I will have to switch to Turbo Tax because I believe there is no way their software will be unable to import from a previous year’s product.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

business was problematic this year. For some reason I couldn't import the prior years and that meant building depreciation schedules all over again. For the state return (again, business) I downloaded Pennsylvania, and after the update it shut down my system repeatedly - think ten or eleven times). I gave up, send the federal off and decided I'd have to do the state by hand. I gave it one last try three days later, again, updated it, and this time it worked. The individual worked fine, as it always does. I really appreciate being able to import things from the year before. I wish the state filings weren't so darned expensive. I don't use the block program for those because PA has free filing. I used the import feature for the W-2s this year for the first time and I appreciated saving a few minutes there.

Cons: Time consuming

There is a bug in the 2025 Montana state e-filing

I tried to e-file my 2025 Montana tax return and the software has a bug where it thinks you are trying to file a 30 day exemption, even though it is not checked. Therefore, your return gets rejected. It is impossible to contact anyone who can deal with and fix the bug forcing me to have to mail in my state return. There is no feedback loop in which filers can get any response or fix any of the software bugs, very frustrating.
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
