First, Schwab was not ready to send information until Feb. 15 even though I had a hard copy way earlier. When I tried to bring the information over, all I got was an error message. You would think that information could have been shown in your responses. When I tried to send my returns electorally I was show 5 problem. These were the fact that my address was not filled in from the Schwab import. The information was on the hard copy?
Have used your product for the last several years and enjoy the question and answer format of the program. Do not have to wade through a wad of blank forms not needed.
This year I was not as happy as previous years. I tried the help, but it was rejected. The first issue was that in the review the total appeared to indicate that I would owe taxes, but I got a refund instead. While I prefer the refund, I hope that I get to keep it. There were some items like the child credit and earned income credit where it was not clear what happened. In past years I had to enter a little more information. This year nothing. Maybe I earned enough that these went away, or the software was improved, or the tax laws changed. At the end I had to quit the main software to install a pdf printer, at least that is what the instructions seemed to indicate. Overall my confidence this year is a bit less than in past years. I accept that part of this is could be issues with the partial Federal government shutdown. I did not import documents. I did not compare with other software, so I don't know if it was maximized.
I've used your tax software for years and never had a problem until this year. Your business tax program is not nearly as good as previous years. My K-1 was wrong and I used it to for my personal taxes. The K-1 had inaccurate numbers and now I have to do a 1040X as I electronically sent it.
