Block software user since 1999. This time around using the same Windows 11 laptop, the buttons didn't work until I re-tried them several times to get the software to start installing.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wasn't worth the price paid. The state program didn't work properly and couldn't be resolved. Had to file my state return a different way. Gave two stars because the federal program worked ok

Awful. I had to restart my computer every single time I used the software this year or it would not connect to my internet. I did all the troubleshooting to get it to work. I will not use this software again and I am a long time customer.

Last year I switched from TurboTax because I thought they were gouging me on the price. In most ways, I liked the Software from H&R Block. But on two occasions, I ran into difficulties and could not move forward with the software. I spent several hours trying to get work around my son in the military had no Michigan Wages and no state tax withholdings. The software required more state wages than withholdings. Finally, I put in one dollar of wages that was not on the W-2 so that the wages would be more than the withholdings. then I could file the tax return.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
I would recommend this to a friend!

HR Block tax software has guided me through tax season for more than 15 years. I never hesitate to make my annual purchase. Over the years, my tax needs have changed , but there has always been a version which fits. Easy to use and the questions guide you through each of the various IRS forms. I really appreciate the double check at the end to ensure everything was right.

I have used H&R Block tax software for over 10 years. I can say that I was disappointed in the software this year. Updates seemed to make the software wonky and kept causing me to reboot my computer. Had to reload the software several times to get it to function properly. Also, the home office deduction did not work properly and I had to move mortgage interest from the place the software put it to the correct line. The software was not how it has been in the past. Disappointing and scarry this year.

Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
