I have been using H & R for several years now and really like the way it checks the data you enter as you go. I also really like the way it E-files and double checks your work before sending it to the IRS.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Having gone through a full audit, I can tell you that this software makes doing your own taxes as easy as is possible. If you have the documentation, you are bullet proof.
I have been using H&R Block’s software for many years. It has it all: ease of use, on line help, it automatically fills in the previous years info that is needed, it efiles your federal return and does your state return for free. What more could you ask for?

When my federal return was rejected due to a typo I corrected it and it wasn't plain to me what I needed to refile the corrected return so I went to the end of the program and hit send. It went out and it was accepted by the IRS at this point. Then I got an email that said that I didn't have to do anything as you would resend it. This is confusing and perhaps the IRS will receive two copies now of the same tax return. This may trigger an audit. I certainly hope not but one never knows. There should be a clearer understanding of what needs to be done when a return is rejected.
