Good and thorough, but rough at the edges

1) Still very difficult to access last year's return, particularly if you moved to a new computer, or made the mistake of removing last year's program.
2) Error list and data validation ("ERO PIN" ?) navigated to wrong form, unable to "correct".
3) Input for important worksheets is not part of interview; you need to know where to go.
4) New Capital Asset entry was confusing. If you already have depreciation going, you need to skip it.

Covers everything. Asks all the questions. Importing of financial documents is a great deal helpful.

It would have been helpful to put more information about what to expect next on each of the FINISH screens. I was able to figure out what I had missed because I am familiar with the lack of information that I need to make a decision. I would be careful about who I recommended this product to.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

Business Portion did not work well

Used this product for several years and the Personal tax portion worked very well as in previous years however the Business Portion kept changes my answers and could not be verified. My Business return was rejected because a form was not attached as a PDF. Seems like H&R block should have known that and told me to do it.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simple to use, self-guiding

I bought the H&R Block software because it is less expensive and has all the features I need as an author. I also bought the PC version. Then my PC had issues so I had to switch to my Mac. With one phone call and no hassles, they gave me a new activation for my Mac and it worked great.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund

Good but NOT helpful for SM LLC

This product is very detailed which I found helpful especially with the latest federal tax changes. However, it is misleading regarding the business part. Single-Member (SM) LLC's in California, this product is NOT for you! The forms you need (568 and 3352) are not here. You'll waste your money if you want to cover those things. Instead, purchase only the Premium Self-Employed box (currently the blue one) --it's cheaper and takes care of your SM business needs minus the forms mentioned above.
Pros: Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Consistently Excellent

I have used this software since before it was H&R Block....back when it was called Tax Cut, I believe. It has always been easy to use and the in program, online chat, and in person backup and assistance is great.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Ive been using this tax program for years and it makes it so easy to transfer from year to year. Also keeps up with the new tax laws and explains what you need to do.
