The review is too general. It took me a while before I figured out that the issue with my return was a slightly negative business income (negative US$49). Only after reducing REAL expenses did I get a positive review ... that was a waste of my time. The worst part of the wasted time: ALL reasons identified by H&R were ALL unrelated to my correction and thus VERY confusing. The same limitations of all previous versions used,
This software has some bugs, and, you need to know a little about taxes to take advantage of this software, unlike TurboTax which a novice can use. Also, some states require E-file {New York} and you can't just E-file the state as a stand alone. I had to print & file my Federal, yet I can't E-file the state without first e-filing the Feds. Most annoying.
I've used H&R Block's programs for years. The 2018 edition was the worst, not ready for prime time. Why was there no "interview" to accompany Wisconsin returns? Really, I could have done the return by hand. And the final analysis kicked up an elevated audit notation, although my return did not fit ANY of the reasons given for the elevated risk. The "help" you thought you bought? Try to find it to use it. Used to be chat boxes...where are they? The help offered was little m ore than read the instruction books. And when will H&R make it easy to exchange date between computers, such as when I buy a new one? C'mon now, let's start being a bit more customer friendly. If this is how it is again for the next edition, I may consider an alternative. Not quite a waste of money...but not far off, either. Very disappointing.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
