This program produces many pages and forms that are not required. It also generated warnings and error messages on those unnecessary forms. Needs much de-bugging. I had to cull out about one third of the filing.
For some reason, I was not able to import data tax data from various brokerages. There were forms that were produced that didn't seem relative to my tax situation, although I am not knowledgeable enough to say they didn't belong there. I caught cases where I thought the language was not explicit enough, which caused me to inadvertently make double entries on taxable income. At the very end of the process, I learned that for the forms I was using, e-filing was not allowed. Next year I hope to go back to Turbo Tax, as I am more familiar using it.
It is an easy way to enter the data into your return but it does not provide much direction for the novice I recommenced a different software that is more interview driven. I used it in a virtual image of Windows 10 it says it will work in Windows 7 but after doing the update it does not. In my opinion if you are proficient with your taxes it makes a convenient way to fill them out and the cost is much cheaper than the main competition. The fact it does both my personal and business taxes for far less money than just my business is what keeps me coming back and makes this my choice. I have considered just feeling the forms out by hand next year my business would be just as easy but my personal taxes are definitely easier with the software.
The premium part was good for me, while the business part was disappointing. In particular, the packages have different styles of their GUIs. For example, the premium package emailed me the acceptance of returns, while the business package was silent. In other words, I did not receive any dated "solid" notification that my return had been submitted to and accepted by IRS.
