I bought this product because Turbo Tax now requires Windows 11. I did not wish to upgrade. So, H&R Block offered a product that still works on Windows 10. I have used Turbo Tax Home and Business for 20 years, and am very familiar with it. H&R Block is less user friendly and required many updates, for which I had to wait, in order to complete my tax return by March 15. I didn't feel confident that everything required was completed efficiently. But completed and e-filed following verification that everything checked out.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

2025 Business product is junk. Software loaded on both desktop and laptop, but when program opened it gives database error. Worked with help desk 3 times with no resolution. They submitted 1 regular and 1 expedited ticket to tech team. No one ever reached out despite me calling help desk many times. Now I am told, sorry, no refund; and sorry, don't know why tech team isn't dealing with this issue, it is impacting 1000's of customers. I have been using Premium & Business for 20 years and this 2025 version is the pits. Forced to switch to TurboTax. Ticket# 26795378 and #27143886
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to prepare

I'm not sure yet. I did taxes for a very senior friend and the part about pensions belonging to her or the deceased is not clear. Also, I noticed veterans now have to claim non taxable pensions.

I used TurboTax for 15 years. Turbo just made the software impossible to use without hiring their prepairers which I don't need. I switched to H&R and am glad I did.
