I don't think you can make a better tax software.

H&R Block has made doing my taxes a zero stress endeavor. I love that it imports all of my data from the previous year and it's a breeze to just click through and verify info. No more filling in the same info year after year. Five star product. Thank you!

Inherent flaw with program

As much as I like this program, it still fails to allow you to attach a file when uploading your tax return. Although the program suggests you can upload your qbi form, the program fails to explain how to do it. The program doesn’t prompt you to attach the file; thus; the return was sent with a missing document. Same problem last year and still not fixed. Otherwise, a good program as long as you are not attaching files.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Obvious problems go year after decades without being fixed. Form 1041 has several "traps": default "yes" radio buttons which should default to "no" or even default to none checked. Then when you revisit a page the radio button is re-defaulted to "yes" forcing one to carefully click through pages and repeatedly check "no" or else you trigger one of these "default traps" and get weird forms (especially foreign income or accounts or small business) included with your return.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Hard to prepare

I believe the H&R Block Tax Software is better than a human. I've only taken my taxes to a tax professional one time in my 40 years of doing my own taxes. The results proved that tax software is just as effective and efficient. I believe it's also more thorough. You don't have to wonder if the tax person thought of all the questions to ask. The software guarantees it. I always recommend H&R Tax Software.

The Business tax interview is not thorough enough. Its leaves you chasing warnings that just tell you to fill out the form and what is wrong but not where the info is entered on the form.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

NY state was rejected. I fixed the problem and tried to resubmit. Software was not programmed to efile and resubmit again. I had to print. Now I have to go to the post office to mail it during COVID-19.
Cons: Time consuming

I find this easy to use. I am not an accountant, but I do my own return as well as two partnership returns. Phone support was readily available for the one issue I did have. If you are paying an accountant, you might try this first, and gain some insight to the consequences of your business transactions throughout the year, modify your behavior accordingly and save a ton of money. Highly recommended.
