I’ve used this software for a number of years and it has been reliable and accurate. I am self-employed so I have more questions to answer. I would rate the product 5/5 if it provided more explanation of tax terminology. As good as it is, it should not assume that I am a tax professional and understand all the unique language. The 2019 version did handle the SC self-employment special tax provision much better than previous years, but it was in the background, not in the interview process.

I found it extremely difficult to get up to speed with this program and I'm an accountant. I would not recommend it for someone who is not experienced in researching tax forms.

Continue to have issues with QBI inputs and deduction. Providing the QBI software fixes after most users have followed the interview to input their data effectively hides the changes that must be made for the QBI deduction to work unless the user redoes the interview. Not sure why the QBI software was not available in January since I am not aware of any significant changes for 2019 tax year. After hours wasted in seeking support, was finally able to fix for filing.
Pros: Easy to import documents

The partnership part of this program is a nightmare. Doing the return on paper would be easier. It appears to be the only do it yourself program that is affordable. I have used it for yeears and never have been able to efile the return as there is always an issue. The program is cumbersome and user unfriendly.

I have been trying for a week to e-file my Ohio return without success. I get responses like "I don't understand the question."
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare
