The software was easy to use. This was my first time filing our joint taxes. I'm grateful for the fact that previous year's taxes were available so that information was imported easily and made completing the forms easier.

Teh business software is horrible. It does not provide much guidance like the consumer software does. TaxAct is much easier to use for business filings.
Cons: Hard to prepare

Personal tax program is great. Business—not so mu

I do the taxes for my deceased father’s estate (form 1041). Your program could provide better guidance to explain tax forms. Also, it does not integrate with Merrill Lynch, the financial services company that holds my father’s assets. So I had to enter all income manually. Finally, it was difficult to figure out how to access state forms. On the positive side, the program works on Windows 11 this year for the first time. I appreciate that. I have done my personal taxes using HR TaxCut for 25 years. The Business version of TaxCut is a bit disappointing.

I bought the H&R BLOCK Software for filing in 2026 last year. I filed my Federal and Virginia State Taxes using the Software on line. The Virginia return took the amount I owed out of my bank account the very next day. The amount I owed on my Federal Taxes came out of my bank account today April 16, 2026. There were no issues with either Tax return. I have used H&R BLOCK Tax Software for many years and it works extremely well. I highly recommend it.

I bought this in January because it is the lowest priced software that I've found for preparing 1041 returns. Unfortunately it's not as user friendly as Turbo Tax.
