2021 Software not supported on Windows 11. Therefore you had to start over. 2022 was supported but a real ordeal to move files from old Windows 10 platform to Windows 11.
Form 1040 program is very good, the "Business" program not as much. Documentation and support for external partnership K1 forms is lacking, and it still is not possible to eFile a Form 1041 for a complex Trust. Good support for importing realized gain-loss data to Form 8949, if you can find the well-hidden "import" button. Some of the error checking messages are cryptic. Federal eFile support works well for Form 1040, Form 1065, but not for Form 1041 returns.
Terribly disappointed that the business app doesn’t carry forward prior years information. Personal tax information does but numerous searches to find a solution for the business application turns up nothing and it appears H&R has no solution.
Personal works well and carries data from previous years. Business version sucks. Does not let you know where it stores data, fails to work the next year so you have to manually enter all prior years data. Be sure to save pdf backup with all the forms or you're screwed. Getting it to work again after tax season is a crapshoot
The navigation from interview and IRS forms needs to be greatly improve. Currently, you cannot drill into the interview process and have to start at some point that requires you to answer all the questions again and again to get to a specific point. Navigation back and forth between the interview and IRS forms should be more robust and go directly between each.
Over the last 5 years I've noticed the software seemed to have a few more bugs each year, and this year is the worst. I should have filed on paper as many form instructions I had to read. Hopefully the 4/20/23 scheduled update will fix the bugs.
many pieces of Data were not entered in the proper forms had to spend a lot of time reviewing forms to find out where it was supposed to be entered and fix. some data was not put in place or requested so on review it was flagged as missing or incorrectly entered. especially the business forms. it would be helpful if links were provided to public webpages to obtain data IE healthcare.gov
