This 2023 version not great

There were too many glitches in this version. Would not e-file because it said I needed to update federal. I attempted to update multiple times without success. Finally after reaching out to my son in law who told me to reinstall software was able to do. There was also problems with some of the forms. Keep repeating that they had to be fixed and after fixing the same error would come up. Ended up having to delete the form to move forward. I have to say I have used this program for several years and this was the first time I have been this disappointed.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really find the h&r block software superb. With the slip up that the 22 could not import 21 if you were on a version of The operating system. Anyway that is now fixed. So I look forward to it seamless move going forward. The only glitch that I really picked up was that it seemed like when you wanted to do a review of errors, you made some changes, however the changes had to be repeated and repeated for them until you please get them all. I still give it a solid four out of five and will remain a client for years to come.
Pros: Easy to prepare

The Windows product has a very old-school UI that is clunky and sometimes difficult to use. It doesn't hold your hand as much as its main competitor. It assumes you know, or will read and understand, tax regulations in the areas where you need premium and business functionality. It often has you put data directly into the tax form. After using this product, I did not have as much confidence that my taxes were correct as I did using the competitor.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare

Failed to e-file on Tax day. It cost Time & $$$

I have used this software for years and this year they messed me up with a failure to e-file on tax day. They posted a message that they were having ISSUES and to print and send a hard copy to the IRS. Pressure!!! At least I got the message early enough to take care of it. I can't imagine getting home after work and facing this.
I had to print, assemble, attach forms, write a check, drive to the post office, wait for one hour to send my taxes certified mail... plus more cost $$. Then last night, I got a confirmation that my taxes were sent to the IRS. I am not sure how this will work. The IRS got an E-copy and now a hard copy. I met two other people at the post office with the same issue. Way to lose the Superbowl of tax filing!

Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I used turbo tax before and HR block this time was much more affordable with a business. So I decided to try it. But it was not as easy as turbo tax. When you go through the interview there's really no explanation for specific things in that question. It wasn't as user friendly. And certain updates took awhile for the updates to be release. And certain import doesn't work.
