I’ve been using H&R for years and it made doing my taxes much easier and more accurate. The last few years have offered challenges however; software bugs, incompatibility with Apple devices, server unavailable. I actually had to mail in my return this year because the server was down, I could not file online. This made me very angry.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've been using it for many years and never had a problem with it until this year. The Federal worked perfectly but the State of CT did not. I had a penalty not paying my estimated taxes enough throughout the year. It computed the form correctly but did NOT print the form or subtract it from my refund. When the state received the tax form, the state sent me a correction. This feature has worked many times in prior years. But I will still be pruchasing it for next year because other wise I think it a great product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Your help desk is great when you get to the right tech for help but that could take hours and tiresome. The font size needs to be increased beyond what the computer font can i9nccrease. The forms are too condensed. Error resolution is not intuitive nor is the message's resolution specific enough.

An outage on filing just before April 15th ?????

Seriously folks, this is utterly and completely UNACCEPTABLE !!! You've got NO BUSINESS allowing that to occur in that time-frame.. You should certainly be aware of the IT capacity requirements and be prepared to solve that problem PDQ. It took from at least Sunday night until Monday afternoon to resolve. Bad look - VERY BAD LOOK...

H&R Block Online filing was a fail on filing day

I bought a copy of their business software, thinking that's what I needed if I had a 1099 business. Total waste of money I then bought the premium Federal + State software, which is what I needed. Instructions for Schedule C were weak. When April 15 filing day came around, I received error messages that Block's servers were down, suggesting they were being maintained. After a dozen attempts, I was able to e-file my returns on April 15. Block "verified" my debit card every time I made a failed attempt to file.The duplicate charges didn't drop off for 48 hours.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
