The business software I have to use to do a 1041 trust filing is not particularly user friendly. Unlike the personal 1040 software it has very few user prompts, but rather drops you into the forms to complete.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Been using this for a dozen years and am still disappointed with a couple things. First, there's lots of terms and fields that they don't even attempt to explain. Like it asks if you are claiming a section xyz exclusion, but don't provide Any explanation. Why not? And there's a couple other quirks that I've just gotten used to, but most actual bugs are finally gone. At this point it's much easier than learning the quirks of a different app.

What I like about this product is it asks all of the relevant questions ensuring that absolutely nothing is omitted.
The only downside when used for married filing separately is it doesn’t link the community property aspect together and I errored miserably.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

I keep using H&R Block because I’m used to it. And if the competition was created by someone else, I might switch because there are places where the explanations are vague and not clear. But I’m used to it by now so I’ll stick with it.

I have been using H&R Block tax software for 5 years now. With the high end version I can handle all my tax needs. The software itself selects and produces the necessary forms based on the preliminary questions. I will continue using it for the foreseeable future.
