The software by itself needs a learning curve as it is often not very intuitive.
Except for the final return that you can efile, you can NOT efile 1099s, 940,941, extensions etc

I've used this software the past several years to file my own taxes. I appreciate that it is simple and walks me through the process, and that it doesn't skip sections which helps me maximize my deductions. I've noticed with some other software programs that there are deductions I'm eligible for that they don't ask about at all in the interview process. HR is my favorite from anything else I've used.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund

Software is terrible

The software is not user friendly. It gets stuck on random things. It makes it difficult to navigate. They only reason to use this is that it is cheaper than turbotax.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

HRBlock Premium & Business does a good job on personal returns with easy to navigate interviews. The business software can be rudimentary, a little clunky to use, and missing some new tax forms such as partnership state PTE forms which are now required for any partnership returns.
Pros: Easy to prepare

Program is cumbersome and exceedingly time consuming. It is not nimble when trying to move from one section to another. If a section does not apply, I do not want to go through five more screens to MOVE ON.
