I have used H&R Block software for many years. It works pretty well and I don't find too many instances where I have to manually adjust the numbers. This year I had to restart a return because the program went crazy. Not sure what happened.

I've using H&R Block software for about 20 years. It has so far served our needs without any problems at a reasonable cost. A little knowledge on preparation of tax returns is very helpful if you are doing this yourself, specially if you have a business.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming

Very smooth handling on my mini mac

I’ve been a TurboTax for the Mac or pc for years. But, this year I began bringing the data together by Feb 1st. and wasn’t able to complete it by well into March. A lot of the problems was leftover COVID symptoms. But, doing the return on my mini mac which I don’t use all that regularly ‘cause I do most things now on my Samsung Tab 8. It’s very robust but TurboTax doesn’t offer a higher level return that includes a bit of interest and 1090 R and INT.
After hours of work and a significant amount of time working with an on-line helper (he was quite capable but any time I closed off I couldn’t load up the progress the next day. The problem wasn’t complexity about say a 1099 it was figuring out how or what the system was asking for. Greatly frustrated after getting close to the extended filing date with no idea if I would ever be successful I was at a loss as to what to do…
I finally decided to start over from scratch with H & R BLOCK.
Short answer I pretty much sailed thru the process. It was very much like my old days with TurboTax except updated in technic where useful.
I’ll be using H & R BLOCK FROM NOW ON.
