I am Jacob's grandfather and I purchased H & R software to prepare his tax return. He had a "short form" and I had a most difficult preparing the tax return as your software is definitely not "user friendly." After working for 1-2 hours to do a short form I gave up. I went out and purchased TURBOTAX to prepare the tax return and this was a "piece of cake" using their software.
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare, Hard to import documents
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Still missing New Jersey business filing support

The 1040 software is sufficient. It did its job with no fuss.
The business software has missing functionality: specifically, support for New Jersey state filing. After completing the federal interview: surprise! No New Jersey state filing support. I simply went back to my previous software, and E-filed federal and state business filings

I buy it every year and find it easy to use and very complete. I have confidence in it. I do wish I could do more than four e-files with the package. I have six (6) grandchildren in various states. I do all their federal and state returns with the package, but I can only e-file 4 state and federal returns. I like being able to buy the various state packages: New York, Ohio, Rhode Island and Illinois.
