I kept having problems. Clicked on the link to file electronically and I thought it was done, but i never got an acknowledgement from the irs. So a few days later, I did it again. That time I got a federal acknowledgement but no state. So a couple of days later, I repeated the state efile. I still don't have an acknowledgement, even though I have have been charged. I was charged for the state return even though I was eligible for the free file and entered the code.

I am a long time user of the Premium and Business package and have two different takes. The personal tax product is outstanding! The business part of the package is middling at best.
The interactive assistance in the personal tax program is better than what you would get at a tax practitioner's office. The ability to import broker information (gains/losses/1099s/etc.) is seamless and saved me many hours and probably errors. Can't recommend it enough.
The business part of package is only for those who have more than a passing knowledge of the corporate tax structure in this country. Concepts and decisions are brought up during preparation that you must research on your own or risk filing a return riddled with errors. The database that the return is based on is ancient. If you have skills in data processing, it will work for you. If you don't, there is a real possibility that it will not install properly and you will be cursing at your computer monitor. Importing information other than the prior year return almost never works. The one thing the return has in its favor is that the competitor product is more expensive and does a whole lot less.
In the end, a real yin/yang kind of product.
BTW, when I say I have been a long time user I mean I have been using it since before HRB bought the software company that forms the basis for the current product. As I think about it, the business software product is almost unchanged from it's earliest days. Could really use an update.

I have been purchasing and using H&R Block Premium and Business software for 25 years (started when it was still TaxCut Brand). For my 2024 taxes, this was the first time I encountered a problem. The software did not know what to do with Box 11.A other Income and Box 13.AE other deductions from a Form 1065 Sch. K-1 report. Told me I would have to figure out where to put the two items, and then enter them manually. When I did, I was told I could not efile because of this problem.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents
I would recommend this to a friend!

Program was great at filing business and personal taxes. The real problem I had was downloading a copy of the return to my document file. I had to install an HR Block PDF program to accomplish the download. Why??

Same problem every year

Just finished 2024 filings. For the past several years I have pointed out the short comings and confusion in the lack of feature(s) to easily navigate through the tax return process. This year I will try to be more specific.
When opening a "itemized list" anywhere in the interview process, a window is displayed showing all the itemized lists already created in the return. The problem is it only displays the IRS form number and line number without any reference to the position in the interview process. This makes it VERY difficult to select the list you are wanting to view. Therefore you have to open each of the itemized lists until you find the one you are looking for. This is very cumbersome and non-intuitive and confusing.
In the itemized list window, there should be some name reference to the interview process so you can easily select the one you are searching for.
Pros: Maximizes refund
Cons: Time consuming
