When reviewing the errors at the end, its extremely difficult if not impossible to get to the area of the questionnaire or form and then actually make a correction. 3 of 4 of my corrections it would not take.
The help dialog is horrible. I get better info by simply googling my question.
Also, I'm in Texas, and on the W2 block 15 employers state ID for 2 different employers they but TX but leave the second block in 15 blank. That should not be an error.
Also the business software I've used for years and it doesn't allow me to send electronically.

This is the only consumer level product with non-profits in the business package, so I switched from another product when electronic filing of 990-pf became mandatory. That makes this the best overall produce available. However, help links to other lines in forms or worksheets are less well developed than other products. Sometimes link says there is no place info came from, which is not correct and external web search is needed to figure it out.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to prepare

BIG IMPROVEMENT from last year! The program flow is smoother and the Interview is more topic-specific and easy to understand. Some Help topics are left to left to IRS links, which can be less than helpful.

This software is mostly helpful. I have been using it since 2018. But, I am always nervous about it due to the issues I run into almost every year (different issues). This year, it was not being able to efile the normal way because the software kept saying a form was required that isn't. I had to use efile on the menu to get around that bug. I cannot say if their competition does any better. I wish it had a tool to help calculate basis in an s-corp each year.

I am having a big problem filing an amended return. After I submitted what I thought was correct, I realized I had used the wrong 1099s to enter data. So far I am unable to get the revised return submitted.

The business software was not nearly as user friendly as the personal tax return program. As a result I was not able to use it to file the returns for my trust. When I say user friendly, it was both with being able to jump between forms easily and consistently and more importantly, the questions to prompt one through completing it. I also thought that the clearing of errors aspect did not provide enough information to be able to clear them. I was disappointed with the business program.
