So easy to use!

I have been using H&R Block for years now and am never disappointed.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Hard to install

Great software

it is a great software and all but I filed my taxes with this on feb 15th and I still dont have my taxes back. can someone please just hurry it up I need that money to pay off bills. been kinda ow on budget lately.
Pros: Easy to install, Easy to prepare, Easy to import
Cons: Time consuming, Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to fix issues

My taxes

Like the program, have used it for many years. Need to make the print bigger. Need a place to explain why a change occurred ex: at one time I owed $417 and it jumped to me owing $500 and I was not entering anything, I went through the forms several times and could not understand why. Need to revise the printing better, confusing on what you are printing
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund, Hard to fix issues

I had checks returned in Box 4. could not find Box 4 on form.

Good federal; state had a problem

As a longtime user of HR Block tax software, I am essentially satisfied with the product (Federal and State Deluxe). However, I did have a potentially serious issue with this year's version. Initially, the software calculated us as owing $1,671 to New York State and potentially also owing a late fee for not paying estimated taxes. When I checked the return. I found that the software had failed to note that more than $38,000 of our income was from my wife's state pension as a retired teacher, which is not figured in as taxable income by the state. When I corrected that omission, the software calculated us as eligible for a $179 refund. And after I checked the box saying I wanted to figure our late fee rather than having the state calculate it, the software changed its mind about our supposed late fee exposure, stating that we were not liable for one. Since we do not have to make estimated quarterly tax payments, I knew that the late-fee warning was wrong. but I wonder what the heck went wrong. Also, I would venture that some people would have just accepted the initial calculation.

I found it very easy to do my taxes this year with your product. Most of my friends pay someone to do their taxes, but they still spend much time getting their tax documents, deductions etc. together, which is also the major part of my tax payment time. It only took me about 2 hours at the computer to actually do the return. Thank you.
