I purchased the H&R block software, loaded it and lost my disk. My computer crashed and I lost all of my tax return data. Thanks to the company providing great services, they provided me with a backup copy and I was able to file my taxes. I am a consumer for life.
Pros: Easy to prepare

nothing but problems with this years software and now it completely erased my taxes I have no copy of my taxes know thanks... will never buy again long time customers gone

simpler to understand than the actual tax forms

I've used TaxCut for years, so my financial spreadsheet is set up to answer all its "interview" questions. I file Sched C & E, and they are relatively simple. And of course it does all the math!!!!! Also since I use it every year, it uploads prior year items so I don't forget to enter them, and does the calculation (like for depreciation) each year. The only problem I encountered this year was one entry TaxCut had done automatically (from data I'd entered on another page) that didn't give me a way to find out what page it came from. I eventually sleuthed it out. Usually it does give you that info. I also like the ability to switch between interview & tax forms, and "go to" whatever topic you want to.
