I have always been pleased with thus product. They have now included a few ‘shortcuts’ that allow you to, not only fill out the forms quicker, but this also cuts down on possible mistakes. I plan to use it next year!

I enjoyed using this program to prepare my tax return. The interview questions were very helpful. I also saved prep fees for tax returns.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

Overly complex for simple return.

Helpful, but complicated in the extreme. The software could highlight problems much more quickly.

I have a pretty uncomplicated tax return. Basic does all I need and not a bunch of things I don't need. Keep up the good work!!

I have used this product for about 10 years. My son's return was simple, went like clockwork. My return included IRAs, retirement, savings etc, and the computer will not
let me enter data due to exacting definitions. Will do by hand, maybe try again later

2018 Basic Fed: Update & page printing issues.

To whom it concerns:
I have been purchasing H&R Block Basic Federal Tax CD for the past 14 Years and NEVER experienced what happened with H&R Block Basic Federal Tax for 2018.
After installing the software it would NOT UPDATE. I then contacted H&R Block support only to find out that the Tax-2018 CD's have Update problem. The Support representative e-mailed me a new Up-to-Date Basic Federal from which I was able to complete my 2018 Return, except one “Glitch” of NOT be able to print the official Form-1040 (for my paper records), that always consisted of 2 pages: Instead, it printed (6) pages and to TOP it all NONE of the six pages contained the official Form 1040 showing Name, Address, Soc. Sec.#’s and Return lines from 7 all-the-way to line: 79 (which was always printed and contained by two 8.5 x 11 sheets).
H&R Block positively messed-up marketing “Tax-2018 Basic Federal” software having Update and Printing problems.

In closing:
H&R Block Should NOT retail Tax Return software UNTIL their “ACCURACY QUALITY ANSURANCE” Dept. Team (If they have one) Totally and completely run comprehensive tests before marketing their products.
H&R Block did NOT for: Federal Tax year 2018.
