I have been using H& R software for years and never had a problem
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Not sure I got the maximum refund due to me. I believe I overpaid taxes.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Doesn't maximize refund

Think you need a simpler one for seniors who just have basic income like SS pension thrift savings and some interest.

One major flaw

the tax prep software was adequate. However, the print is SO small it's almost unreadable. Trying to enlarge the font cut off half the sentence making the entire page unreadable. I will think long and hard about using this software again if this problem is not fixed
Cons: Hard to prepare
