I always buy the basic because I have been using it for years so I don't need the help along the way so I don't buy the more expensive versions.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Just stick it in and go. H&R is so easy to use. Never a hassle. Turbo tax beware.

Not being a techi, I never did find the "check status" feature once the return was accepted. I don't see instructions whether to send in 1099's since I e-filed. Better communication would be helpful to us less knowledgeable folks.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents

I have used H&R Block software for several years now. Had complicated returns until I retired 2 years ago, when they got really simple. Have been so pleased every year.
