Software is good except for credit on water heater. The instructions didn't explain what a QMId is and I had to Google to find what it stands for. It required the qmid for my new water heater but I couldn't find it it in my owners manual nor on the water heater plate. I had to go back to Google to find a list of codes for each brand..
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Hard to prepare

Less expensive than TurboTax, but somewhat harder to use. Mostly gets the job done - a few rough edges; 1) I live in a state with no state income tax. W2's we receive show the state's 2-letter acronym, but no other numbers. Error checking complains about that situation. Should have a table of state abbreviations that do not require state reporting on the W2 and not complain when those states show no numbers.
Trying to enter a W2 for someone who has a Roth 401(k), amounts for taxable wages vs SS wages are identical - error checking flags this as an error due to there being something in box 12 - it should check the letter code in box 12 and if it's the code for a Roth 401(k) should NOT flag an error for those boxes being identical.

Used this for over 20 years...had a problem with file....AI service worthless, called to speak to agent...never connected..finally fixed prob myself

I switched from Turbo Tax to HR Block . After adjusting to the new system I found HR Block to be just as easy to use. Next year, I will continure to use the Block system. It works with windows 10.
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard to import documents
