So easy to use. I've done my taxes using the H&R Block program for many years. It's the easiest program to use and I can save it as I go and print off my return every year for my file. If I misplaced a return I just go to my computer and get another copy. Thanks H&R Block.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast
Handling schedule K-1 that report certain ETFs is difficult to enter...you have to make a lot of guesses, search for info and manually enter into forms. The software should ask for the items on the K-1 "1099", and the program should do the rest. I've used H&R Block tax software for year and like it, BUT please fix the K-1 problem.
New tax law, new rules, new forms. Need more guidance. Examples: 1. NIIT - if you don't fit into the simplest group, there is no advice where in the program to go to get the deductions I was eligible for. In fact the simple form would have sufficed, if HRBlock had prefilled the boxes that come from elsewhere. It should indicate in the Help screen for that part of the interview where the rest of the info should be entered. 2. QBI - boxes were not prefilled. Ultimately it didn't matter, but if the boxes had been filled in that would have been obvious and saved me a lot of time. 3. Maryland return has a box that should be checked if investment income is more than a certain amount. It is, and HRBlock knows it (from the federal return). But the box was not checked. 4. A lot of the "comes from" entries don't show where info comes from.
i have been with h&r block for several years... but this year 2019 is a big joke.. i cant get back into the program to see my files... cant find on my computer...very very dissappointed...
Program works fine, but every time there is an update to the tax code, the program reboots the entire computer. This shouldn't happen, is just poor software deployment.
