Straight forward, easy to use, 1 minor aggravation

I like the up front screening to determine what you need. Very easy input. My tax return has gotten simpler at age 62 than ever before anyway since I don't owe anyone anything, especially a mortgage! :)
H&R Basic caught one data inconsistency from having to manually input W2 amounts. Very good. Made the highlighted correction but repeatedly got the error when I clicked "Next". I went back and checked the W2 data and it had actually been corrected. A little more work on error proofing may be needed, or just an anomaly. Overall, excellent product.

Easiest file I’ve ever done, only criticism I have is the state file extra cost, and I’m kinda stuck paying it within the program if I want to finish my State return
Pros: Maximizes refund, Fast
Cons: Time consuming

I was told I could file free with turbo tax but I like the security of H & R Block. It is practically idiot-proof and I will probably always get it.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Maximizes refund, Easy to import documents, Fast

Some fields takes some navigating to get back to, but otherwise a nice easy to follow program. It double checks for issues before you send it in! And has a nice audit % feature.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I've used H&R programs for 5 years or more. Not any morel. It calculated some dividends and capital gains in a mutal funds at close to 26% when I'm in the 12% bracket.Why did I file then? Because today was my last day. So now I get ready to file and amended return

Great Choice

I've been using H & R for many , many years. Always, with good results. Tax season can be a real challenge, but these products make the whole process easier. Gather up the documents you need (1099's, investment statements, etc.) Open the H & R program and fill in the Blanks ! That simple. The program asks you the questions when needed and does all the figuring for you. How simple and error free can it get. The second year you use it, it fills in even more info, your name address etc, from last years. Even Faster for you..... the only thing it doesn't do is pay the taxes for you .. Sorry but you have to that yourself !

Its ok, but there are hidden costs in it, had to upgrade and pay for efile.
