Easy to use - Deductions can do better!

One of our daughters used H&R Block to do their taxes for the first time. They told me they spend a lot of time putting in their deduction information. I saw this on H&R Block Deluxe as well.
H&R Block should ask a few qualifying questions first to let people avoid putting in all their deductions. For example:
1. Do you own a house with a mortgage?
2. Do you pay property tax?
3. How much are your State and Local taxes withheld? (software can auto-fill)
4. Do you have charity or medical expense or other deductions that exceed this amount ($12,000 standard deduction - [max of state taxes withheld or $5,000 SALT limit])?

If you are not a home owner, it is highly unlikely a non-property owner will have over $7,000 of other type of deductions, meaning they can then SKIP the entire section of entering charity donations, etc.
For a marred couple filing joint, this would be $24,000 standard deduction - $10,000 max SALT deduction.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I got it a few days ago for the filing deadline, and it save me quite a lot of time.
Pros: Easy to prepare
Cons: Time consuming

I don't like this software at all. I will not use again. There's nothing wrong with my computer. Too much money to pay for something that doesn't work.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

There are too many issues that you can not find answers for or get help with. I have used this product for nearly 10 years and this will be my last.

Re-installing software and State Deductions

After many calls about reinstalling software on my daughter’s computer and receiving many codes, nothing worked to I had to copy the .T18 file and submit her return from my house. I also think you need to be more specific in the questions you ask relating to state income tax deductions so that the consumer can understand what you mean by “refund” vs “overpayment”. I was getting an incorrect result because I split my IL overpayment from 2017 into a true “refund” where you get the money back vs the part that I credited to 2018 taxes.
Pros: Easy to import documents, Fast
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

Simple Tax Situations

It took a bit to get familiar with the program since I had not used the H&R Block system previously. When I got home with the package, I discovered there was no note card with an Activation The wrapping of the case had been torn and the card had disappeared. I suggest putting the wrapping around the outside box.
Pros: Easy to prepare, Easy to import documents, Fast
I would recommend this to a friend!

O tried to send return and got charged five different times and then had to finally send it using take payment put of return which costed me more. And I hoping I get refunded for alll the charges to my card
