I live in FL with no state tax so I just need the easiest Fed software. I've always done my own taxes and have used various software, and this is the best program I've used and tax prep is now a breeze. This year my wife looked over my shoulder through the entire process so I can no longer keep her thinking that it's a big deal.

Federal is very good but "state of Illinois" cost is 700% higher and in Illinois it is full of pregaming errors and has been for years thought some have been fixed after over 50 phone calls.
The latest error, I wont know until next year but the" free" state of Illiions is much more economical even though it takes more time to fill out

BOTTOM LINE --FEDERAL IS VERY GOOD BUT STATE OF ILLINOIS IS OVER PRICED AND HAS PROGRAMING ERRORS.
Pros: Easy to import documents
Cons: Time consuming, Hard to prepare

H&R Block Basic is great. I did my Federal taxes in about 25 minutes. I used the Standard deduction for me and my wife with no problems. The software can load your information from the previous year and this saves a lot of time. It also contains help. H&R Basic is the best tax software I have used.
