After doing my Federal Income Taxes with the H&R Block software 2011-18 without mishap, I downloaded and did my 2019 taxes today. I'm confident, from years of experience, I'll have my refund in the bank in about eight days.
Pros: Fast

Watch out--now requires Operating System upgrade

Have been using Kiplinger for about 25 years and preferred it over others. However, this year it would not load. Nowhere on the box or materials does it stare that you must now have the latest operating system. I don't like to be forced to "chase" the latest operating system(s) when mine is working fine. Guess I'll be using something else next year.
Cons: Time consuming
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needed to get my taxes done quick as I was leaving the country and didn't want to file for an extension. A bit confusing if you are a first timer as the initial questions ask for information from a previous software filing. You should just ask the basic question "Did you use H&R Block software when filing last year?" No would take you to "Did you use another software program filing last year?" No would take you to the first timer using software, so ask me if I filed last year then tell me what I need to do to continue. Ex. a copy of last years tax filing if I filed Federal Taxes last year.. It would be a less confusing start than what you offer. After I got started, it was very smooth.
